History of Credit Unions & rough session guide

Posted Wed Mar 19 23:07:06 -0700 2008

I know not everyone attending this barcampbank is necessarily a credit union fan, but I think it is appropriate to hold the camp at America's CU Museum, in the spot where the personal finance revolution began 100 years ago.

Peggy Powell, the Director of the Museum has agreed to give us a rundown of that CU history. I think it would be a great way to start the day. Unless there are objections, I'll write out an initial rough agenda. Once I've published it, you can feel free to make any suggestions for changes.

I'm especially excited about the roundtable session Ginny suggested about what is the right web 2.0 tool for you to use, whether it's blogging, podcasting, twittering, facebooking, You Tube, or an original microsite creation. I think this will be a very lively session to do in the morning, with lots of input from everyone.

Please feel free to share what's the latest hot thing on your radar screen during the camp! What are you working on? What's the latest cool toy or site that you love?

SEG Member growth and the oppurtunities to really assist these businesses with ERISA protection, employee retention and employer tools to attracts. I am also working on a project to create a vitual banking enviroment for the youth of today who are bored with same ole same ole banking. I think the venue is prefect...

Hey Robert,

I'm not familiar with CUInsure, but I am looking forward to finding out more about it. See you in Manchester in a couple of weeks. I have had some experience with virtual environments, so am curious what you have on the drawing board.

I love the idea of starting with a historical view of the cu movement.
